Elaine S. Watkins

Elaine S. Watkins  Elaine Steadman Watkins unexpectedly returned home to her Heavenly Father on Sat. Nov. 2, 2002.  She was born May 18, 1934 in Bennion, Utah to Albert Walter and Oneida Tischner Steadman. Elaine married her eternal companion, Jack P. Watkins, on July 10, 1952 in the Manti Temple. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Elaine was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served in several ward and stake callings. Most recently she served as Stake Relief Society secretary and with her husband as Church Service Missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She was employed for many years at Steadmans Recreation, the business that her father started. Elaine's life was spent giving service to others. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.  Survivors include her husband; mother; children Cheryl (Burton) Miller, Chuck (Nancy) Watkins, Steve (Shauna) Watkins, Debbie (Tyler) Winn; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; brothers Gary (Mary) Steadman, Nolan (Christie) Steadman, Bruce (Lynda) Steadman and sister Shauna Steadman; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father and son Kelly Albert Watkins.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 7, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Skyline Ward Chapel, 1100 Skyline Drive, Tooele, UT. A viewing will be held on Wed., November 6, 2002 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 So Main St. Tooele and also from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the JAWES Trust Fund at Tooele Federal Credit Union.
