Eric Anderson Obituary
1988 ~ 2013
West Jordan, Utah-Eric passed away Monday August 26, 2013 from a bicycle accident. He was born December 1, 1988, to Carvel and Gayle Anderson in Tustin, Orange County, California. His family moved to West Valley, Utah when Eric was three. His family moved to West Jordan when he was five, where he grew up. Eric attended Bingham High School and graduated in 2007. After graduation, Eric attended college at Utah State University. Eric was strong in his LDS faith and served a two year mission in Lansing, Michigan. He was a gifted musician who loved and lived to play his trumpet with the marching band at USU. Eric loved playing video games in which he could immerse himself for hours. He loved the employees he worked with at Walmart. He loved his family so much and we have always been so close. We love him dearly and he will always be with us. Eric was always willing to keep an open ear and help out anyone in need. He made sure he was listed as a donor and as a final gift made sure he could save others. May you enjoy riding your sisters purple bike in Heaven and playing beautiful music with your trumpet held together with duct tape.
Eric is survived by his parents Carvel and Gayle and siblings Rebekah (Willis) Carter, Wayne, Jonathan (Brighton), Heather (Isaac) Saldivar, Michael, James and Emily.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Welby 2nd Ward Chapel, 9376 South 4000 West, beginning at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 pm at the church and on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:45 am prior to services. Interment will be held at West Jordan City Cemetery. My heart aches for your family. I grew up in WJ and am good friends with Bekah. I'm a Partridge. My family expresses their love for the entire Anderson family! We served in the Michigan Lansing Mission with Eric during most of his mission. We express our deepest sympathy as you mourn the passing of your son. Eric did much good as a missionary in Michigan. He was always kind to everyone and always had a smile on his face. We are grateful to have known and served with him. You and your family will be in our prayers.

Gayle & Carvel - I am sorry that you and your family are suffering pain and sadness from the loss of your son Eric. I hope you can ease these feelings with the memories of pure joy that you experienced when you: held him for the first time, watched the awe of wonder & discovery through his eyes as he grew older experiencing so many things for the first time, felt the sweetness of his loving touch, experienced pride in his many accomplishments, and with the peaceful knowledge that you were sealed as a family for all of eternity. I got to see Eric on the friday before he passed from this world to the next. He had gotten onto my bus and had a shirt on that had 5 different name tags pinned to it. I asked him "what was with all the name tags?" He said "Well, no one calls me by my real name of Eric. They usually call me Doug, Dougy, Derek, and my friends daughter said I needed to have her name too, so I put it here" He pointed to a tag with a girls name on it. (Jessica I think her name was) I smiled and we continued on our trip chatting about different things. When we got to his stop he said good-bye and I said, "I'll see ya later Eric, Doug, Dougy, Derek, and Jessica" He just laughed and exited the bus. That was the last I saw of him.
Eric was so friendly and helpful to others. I will always remember his smile and exciting personality and keep him in my heart.

None of us knows how much time God will grant us in this realm. Eric Anderson was only 24 years old and one of the best people I've ever had the pleasure to meet in my life. Eric and I used to cashier together at Walmart. He was a great friend, musician, and co-worker---he was so easy to talk to and so kind. I'm so thankful to know that this life is only a small part of God's plan for all of us, and that we will meet our friends and loved ones again. My deepest sympathies to Eric's friends and family at this most difficult time. My heart goes out to the Anderson family---Rest in the paradise of our God, Eric, my good and dear friend.

Eric is a wonderful example to his family. What a treat when he was able to see our brother Paul while serving his mission in Michigan. I believe he will continue to share his love for the gospel in the next world. Helping others to have the opportunity to have a forever family like he has.
