I was saddened to hear of the passing of Finn "The Great Dane". Along with working together for many years we shared a deep passion for genealogical research. Finn was an energetic motivated man with a true gift in supporting so many people and projects that he enjoyed. His is an example to all that seek to serve their fellow men. I will treasure our time and discussions forever.

Finn,
You will be in my heart forever. It is not often one encounters such a person as you. You were a mentor and a friend. I owe my career as a USATF Official, in large party, to you. Your patience and expertise teaching me subtle ins and outs of our beloved Hammer are something I have tried to pass on to others.
God Bless You...

From my childhood I remember Finn as the shinny-headed bald man who would walk up and down the isles in sacrament meeting taking an inventory of all of us in his little note-pad like an official government agent. I often wondered where all his "secrete" information he was taking went or what was done with it. Anyway, I have lots of memories of Finn and his great family from my youth. Those were a lot of years ago. I remember he was a great man. My condolences to Christian, Lara, and Eric who I all knew well.

To the Hansen family, our most sincere condolences from the Utah High School Activities Association family. Finn was a starter for the state cross-country and track and field meets for many years, as well as serving as a referee for those events also. He was a giant of a man in the running sports, as his Hall of Fame status shows. He will be missed and his efforts will never be forgotten.
Our best,
Evan Excell, Executive Director, retired and the rest of the staff at the UHSAA

We have lost a great one. I have enjoyed my relationship with Finn and his family for decades. I am disappointed we will be out of town for the viewing and funeral. Our love to the family. He was a man of great faith and exemplified hard work through a life of service. An excellent example of what a citizen of Cottonwood Heights should be!!!
