1951-2022
Salt Lake City, Utah —On August 13, 2022, Garry M. Platt, loving son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, passed away at the age of 7l.
Garry was preceded in death by his father, Daniel, his sister Judith and brother Bill. He is survived by his mother Katie Dahlstrom (Bengt), wife Linda, his son Brian (Nicole), six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his brother Michael.
Garry lived in Utah his entire life, and enjoyed exploring the mountains and streams. He was a lifetime swimmer, taking any opportunity to jump into a body of water. He loved spending time with his son and grandkids, especially his yearly trips to Moab with them. He had a variety of jobs, retiring as a building engineer maintaining the operating systems in a commercial complex.
Garry enjoyed drawing, and was an avid music lover, sometimes composing silly lyrics of his own. He was known for his infectious smile, his kind and compassionate spirit, and his love for family and friends.
A gathering has been scheduled on August 27, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Premier Funeral Home located at 67 East 8000 South.
A special thanks to the staff of The Ridge at Cottonwood Memory Unit for the care they provided Garry in his final months.

My sympathy and condolences to the family. I thoroughly enjoyed my years working with Garry in the management of office buildings. He was dedicated, hard-working and always kind and considerate to everyone with whom he had contact. He made many friends in the course of his career; I feel grateful to be one of them.
