I am so sorry to hear of Bud's passing, or "Mr. Murray" as I called him. I will always remember Bud fondly for having the patience to teach me how to waterski on Utah lake.
My thoughts are with you guys during this time.

Coach Murray was both a friend and mentor & made sure that his players had their butts in class. He always stressed education & I took it to heart. My thoughts and prayers are with the Murray Family

Bud believed in me and drove me to the point I believed him. His influence on me was substantial, has lasted a lifetime and extended far beyond football. He has never left my consciousness.
I am sorry for your loss but thankful you had so many good years with this special man and that I had him for two very special seasons in my life.

To many of us, Coach Murray will forever be an icon as a passionate football coach at South High School. His influence in my life is significant beyond the gridiron. He taught me to rise above the challenges that face all of us, and that with grit and will...we can battle through anything and come out on top. He told me one time "Milner, I yell at those I care about because I want them to improve. Be concerned if I stop yelling at ya."Thanks for the life lessons coach.

Bud was a former teacher, coach and after in life a umpire in fast pitch softball. I was pitching one time in Coralville and he summoned me over, opened his shirt and showed me his chest, heart area, and he had a big round bruise, and he said " Rose, you are what you did", he was jumping behind the plate a few days prior and took a could ball. It was funny then but not when it happened. Bud was a good guy. Had fun with him from high school and into the 70's.
