Gilbert Pando Obituary

Gilbert Pando "Shadow" Our loving uncle, brother, and friend, Gilbert, passed away April 7, 2005. He was born Dec 14, 1936 in Bingham Canyon to Gregorio and Annie Lujan Pando. He was the second of seven children. Gilbert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korea Conflict. He was a member in good standing in the American Legion Post 132. He loved to fish and hunt. Gilbert was a maintenance engineer for Kennecott Corp. and later retired. He also worked as a truck driver for Salt Lake County, and was currently working as a security guard for Otto & Sons. Gilbert is survived by four sisters, Della, Mary, Bessie, Margaret; special niece, Delia and her three children, Darren, Josh and Dezirae; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred, George and nephew, Willie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12th, 10 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Pando family my sincere condolences I am so sorry I was not able to make it for the funeral Gilbert was a wonderful man and will be missed deeply, I tried my best to make it to the funeral, I worked with Gilbert and he talked a great deal about his family, he would talk about fishing and family all the time,he loved you all, he is fishing now and watching over you. My sympathy to you all.

Hello Uncle Gilbert

I hope you knew how much we all cared for you, I know that in a family sometimes you grow apart and dont see each other very often, but the love will always remain. I hope you felt our love at your funeral and I hope you are happy and fishing and watching over us. Dill misses you terribly, please give her strength and help her remember all the happy times. You will never be forgotten by the many who loved you dearly.Please also give my mom some strength as well and let her know how much you cared for her for she loved you dearly! I've known Gilbert all my life and had the great joy of working with all those years at the Mine.

He was a person that was well liked by everyone. I know throughout

his life he had a few scrapes but was able to work through them. He will be missed at our monthly breakfasts each month.To the Pando family I am sorry for your loss.

To Gilbert's Family,

My heart is broken at the loss of Gilbert. He was such an important part of everyone's lives. Delia, Glen, JR, Josh and Dezi, you know that we are here for you no matter what you need.
