Gisela Gertraud Bentke Schwarz age 90 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014.
Gisela was born on October 26, 1923 in Senftenberg, Germany. At the end of World War II, Gisela found herself in Flensburg, Germany, where she met the love of her life Gerhard Guenther Schwarz. He converted her to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They married in 1948 and in 1950 they welcomed a daughter into their lives. In 1952, they left Germany and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they happily spent the rest of their lives. In 1959 their son was born. Gisela enjoyed her family and her home. She enjoyed traveling with Gerhard after his retirement.
On April 16, 2014, her sweetheart of 65 years, Gerhard, passed away peacefully and Gisela has now joined him. Gisela leaves behind two children, Barbara and Gary, their spouses, Earl and Gwen and one grandson, Jason. She is also survived by her sister, Gerda Straschewski, two nieces Diana and Debra and their families. We will all miss her.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 South) Sandy, Utah with a viewing from 11:00 - 11:45 prior to the service.
