Gus and I were good friends at West High.. he played basketball with my husband, Lynn Wagner, and everybody who was anybody knew Gus. I had a mini- crush on him as did every girl in our pack! Gus was such a gentleman and that made him a standout as well as his amazing tennis ability and atlhleticism...Lynn left on a mission while Gus and I were still in school. One time Gus called to ask me out but was quick to say he knew I was was waiting for Lynn and he respected that..... to my regret I didnt go... I am happy he married well and had a sterling career and family...I saw him at our class reunions, always dressed to kill, always charming and gracious. Memories are precious, keep them close. Love and blessings, Carol Conners Wagner. P.S. Lynn is 88 and I am 86 and we have 5 children, 15 grands and 4 great grands.
