Ione Headman passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 29, 2022. She visited with her son and daughter-in-law on Saturday and her daughter and son-in law on Sunday. Ione was born on October 8, 1928, in Angola, Louisiana and was raised and graduated from high school in Gonzales, Louisiana. She was the youngest of seven children of Newton and Mary Ficklin. She moved to Utah with her parents in 1945. Ione married Arlan O. ("Art") Headman in 1948 and they were together until his death in 2015. Art and Ione had three children, Sheila, Bud, and Tanya. Sheila passed away in 1966. Ione is survived by Arlan O Headman Jr (Bud) (wife Sharon), Tanya Sargent (husband Scott), three grandchildren, Nichole Ramos (husband Nick), Alex Headman (wife Kristin), and Samantha Avery (husband Tim), and three great grandchildren, Jackson Ramos. Maxwell Ramos, and Cameron Avery. Ione had an active and full life. She dearly loved her immediate and extended family and her friends. Her mind was good until the end. During her life she was an active bowler, bridge player, and reader. She was the president of a garden club, a relief society president and served on numerous committees during her long life. She continued to keep up to date on current events and continued to learn new things and ideas. During her life, Ione was fun and loved activity. Ione was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint. She did not want a funeral. She wanted her children, and grandchildren to go to dinner together to celebrate her life. The family will have an intimate and short graveside service Saturday September 3, 2022, and then go to her favorite restaurant ("Olive Garden") for an early dinner. She lived a fruitful and interesting life. She will be loved and missed. -
