Jeffrey Allen Obituary

Jeffrey Brown Allen
"Trinket"
Jeffrey Brown Allen left this life July 5, 2015 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Rupert, Idaho. He was born May 18, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah to L. Royce and Erma Brown Allen. He was the baby of our family and was affectionately known as our "Trinket" which began with his Mother. He grew up in the Granger and Taylorsville areas and was part of the first full-term graduating class of 1984 at Taylorsville High School. He went on to attended Salt Lake Community College and the Police Academy and was employed for the Tooele County and South Jordan Police Force. Later Jeff obtained his diesel mechanic degree, a job he truly loved and of which he worked for the rest of his life. He was employed by Smith Power Products for many years in Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho and was currently the Service Manager for Kenworth Sales Company in Heyburn, Idaho.
In 1993 he married Brenda Sue Atherly, they were deeply in love for 22 wonderful years. Jeff, the gentle and kind man that he was, helped Brenda raise her three children and treated each of them as his own. Through their marriage they traveled to many places but his favorite was their trip to New York City. Brenda will forever cherish the years she spent with him.
During his life, he enjoyed body building, fast cars, mechanics, crafted beer, and visiting Wayne County to fish and hunt with his numerous cousins and friends, a place he truly loved. He was a collector of guns, knives and watches. Jeff had a contagious laugh and when doing his story telling, his stories became hilarious and amusing and always brought everyone to tears. He was a Master Chef at barbequing and made incredible dishes for his family at many gatherings which he truly loved. Jeff was a protector of family and friends and gave everyone a safe feeling. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda; father, L. Royce Allen, two sisters Debra Young (Craig) and Laurie Padjen (Mark); and brother Gary Allen. Mother-in- law, Lorraine Atherly; sons, Erik and Brett (Donna) Monson; daughter, Melynda Polunas; special granddaughter, Gracelin Mecham; grandsons, Christopher Di Stefano, Jason and Seth Atkinson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Erma Brown Allen; brother-in-law, Bruce Parry; and nephew, Aaron Parry.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bennion 1st L.D.S Ward Chapel located at 3045 West Bernina Drive (5820 South), Taylorsville, Utah. Reading about Jeff got to me. My husband and I write to you sending our sincere condolences. He sounds like such a good man. He actually reminds me of a verse where it says that better is a good name than good oil. Then it proceeds to say, that when you go to the house of mourning it is better than going to the house of someone that has been born. Because when someone has died then they have truly made an impact in the world and to those around them. It sounds like Jeff did just that. This encourages me to make an impact similar to his.
My husband and I do hope that you get the sufficient rest that you are needing during this time, and please take the moments when you can reflect on all the many wonderful memories you had with such a good man.
With sincere love,
The Wilds
