JOAN YOUNG Obituary

Joan Barbara Young 1919 ~ 2010 Joan Barbara Young passed away June 8, 2010. She was born on October 24, 1919 in Calcutta, India to Horace Archibald Durham and Dorothy Grace Durham. She married Douglas S. Young and moved to the U.S. in 1944 to Dayton, Ohio where Mr. Young, an officer in the USAF, was assigned after the War. Joan enjoyed a life of living in various places as a military wife and finally settling here in Utah. Joan was a very quiet, sweet and undemanding person who was a very talented artist. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by daughter: Sandra J. (Tony) Montano, sons: Robert J. (Robin) Young and Lawrence D. Young, nephew: Steven (Anne) Lumsden, along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, sister: Emily Lumsden and brother: Robert J. Durham. By request there will be a graveside service for immediate family and cremation has taken place by Larkin Mortuary.

I've had Joan on my mind for some time now to inquire as to her health. Procrastination is a terrible thing. My condolences to her family in her passing. She was a most gracious lady. She added much to the neighborhood. Bless her memory!
