I worked part-time Dr. Bevan in the mid 1960s. He was always so kind and patient with me. Things had changed some since I finished my dental assistant training in 1959 and he taught me more than any other dentist I worked for. He made it so I was always happy to go to work.

I am grateful for the example and the patience your father showed to me and many other young men as he served as our priest quorum adviser in the Valley View 4th Ward. John tried his best to help us make correct decisions at a critical time in our lives. Roger Beardshall

So sad to hear that Dr.B / Pres B has left this world to move on to bigger and better adventures, My GrandMother worked for him in the Early Years, She would dress my mother and aunts up in their finest matching dresses, and only one of my uncles in a bowtie and fedora to get a check-up, this family has fond memories and lots of love for him and his family.

I will be forever blessed and profoundly influenced by my association with the Bevans who served with me on Temple Square. I will never forget President and Sister Bevan’s quiet and humble way of serving. They emanated love and I got to feel it often. I’m so grateful for them and how their example helped shape my life and I know countless others. President Bevan is a true leader and I am just so grateful for people like him who are such a force for good in this world and make all the difference. Sending lots of hugs to you Sister Bevan. I love you.

Co-Grampa John. Your Christlike love , caring, profession, service to God, mankind and our country, talents , love of church and multimission service, your unfailing love with Pat and your talented sweet family, onandon, all these and more virtues will indellably engraved in our souls. We suspect one of your latest joys was Ohio State squeeker defeat of the U of Utes in the best Rose Bowl ever. "It takes a village". Yet Nancy and I so cherish your welcome to "graft" into your family tree and to share the fruits of our family harvests. Your (and my) son Curtis has truly exceeded in emulating your successful life in the deep devotion and nurturing with our daughter Alisyn Marie and their amazing children- Jessica, Spencer and Elizabeth. Auf wieder sehen gute freund. Nancy and Nelson Wright and family.

John was a member of the Young Men General Board when I became employed by the Church to serve as secretary to the Young Men General Presidency in 1977. What a wonderful association I had with him during those years as he faithfully fulfilled his role as a member of the board. He was kind and gentle, yet firm and decisive in all of his actions and made a significant contribution to all that was going on with supporting the young men of the Aaronic Priesthood during those years. He was a devoted team player, the consummate gentleman, and kind and friendly to all. My wishes for peace and comfort to the family at his passing. There must be great rejoicing in the Spirit World.

John and Brent had a special friendship throughout their lives. They enjoyed playing golf, especially when he and Pat visited us in Pocatello. We appreciated your last visit to us in Rexburg. We have wonderful memories with the Bevan’s.

Dear Bevan Family:
Please accept our deepest condolences in the passing of your husband and father. He has been my dentist since around 1977. My bishop referred me to him. He gave great Dental care to my family. The next generation continues. Even though I had just been to the dentist, I always left uplifted. I appreciate that. We love you all and glad we got to cross paths in this life at least 2X/year.

One of the reasons my husband and I enjoy living in Reunion Village is the wonderful neighbors we have. Pat and John are two of those great people. They are always friendly and working to improve our community. We will miss John but are grateful Pat continues to live among us. Pat, I hope you and your family will be comforted at this time. I am saddened by the news of President Bevan's passing. He was my favourite in the Temple Square presidency. Always kind and such an example of Christ. He was also the most stylish and knew how to rock the standard dark suit! We nicknamed him 'Lionheart Bevan' in our Jungle Book spoof/skit for a reason. He was a dedicated and widely respected leader but he also always led with his heart. I am forever grateful for his example and friendship. Much love to his beautiful wife, Pat, and the rest of his family at this difficult time.

Even though I never really lived on Alva Circle, I knew how much my parents loved the Bevan family. Once when I was visiting my folks from out f state one of my kids had a dental emergency of some kind. It was nighttime but my parents directed me to take the child down to see John and figure out a plan. He was so gracious and kind. Turned out not to be as bad as we feared! Then we met John and Pat again when we lived on the same stake in South Jordan. I remember seeing them often at the gym and heard about their inspiring missionary adventures! What an amazing couple!

I didn’t know JJohn as well as Pat. I cleaned there house for many years , He was a great man and I admired them both so much. I went to California with them when I was about 14 years to help with the kids, I had a lot of fun and never got to go back until I was married, so I will always remember and cherish that fun time. Great people.
