Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend passed away April 24, 2018 from an accidental fall. John was born on March 27, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to C. Deloy and Katherine Reid, the eighth of nine children. John grew up in Salt Lake City. After graduating Murray High, John married Patti Bailey, they were blessed with 3 children: Tony, Paula, Trisha. They were later divorced. John was blessed with Seven grandchildren : Trina, Tara, Trevor, Isabella, Roman, Amia, Nene and one great grandchild Tyler John (TJ). John attended Barber College and became owner of John's Barbershop and then owner/manager of Fashion Bowling Lanes. He was an avid bowler with several perfect 300 Games. An avid fisherman, golfer (once having a "hole in one") and all around sports fan and biggest Broncos fan ever!! Later in life working for Larry H Miller, then Allied parts, where he worked with a great group of friends that he cherished very much. But most of all the most caring, supporting, (never missing any events or games his kids or grandkids were a part of), loving, non-judgmental father and grandfather anyone could ask for, Job well done dad!
Survived by his kids, grandkids, great-grandson, brother (and best buddy) Lee (Lou), sisters Arline, Kathy, Joann (Pat), Geri, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 6:00-9:00- pm. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
