Joye Wall Obituary
PRICE, UT-"Joy" passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 6, 2013.
She was born on June 8, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Henry F. and Olivia Meiling Wall. After graduating from Wasatch Academy, she moved to LaVerne, California where she married Boyd P. Terry of Fairview, Utah on July 24, 1945. Boyd was killed in 1954 while deer hunting. She moved their three children to Mt. Pleasant, Utah where she worked at Wasatch Academy, a sewing factory, and the Soil Conservation Service simultaneously. In 1964 she married Ralph T. Coates, moved to Salt Lake City, then to Price, Utah in 1966. They divorced in 1983. When she was 78 years old, she retired from the College of Eastern Utah.
Preceded in death by her father, mother, and husband; sisters Ruth and Kathryn; brothers Ted and Willis. Her oldest son, Dennis, was killed in a car accident at age 19 while home on leave from the US Air Force.
She is survived by her son Robert (Sally) Terry, daughter Janet (Jack) Forrester and step daughter Jann Coates (Allen) Guptill; grandchildren, Robert (Jamie) Terry, Bryan (Joanna) Tierney, John Forrester IV, Becky Tierney; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Teagan Terry, Ricky and Mary Tierney, and Marcus, Maya and Mykel Mifflin.
The family wants to thank her wonderful neighbors and girlfriends, the "Sears bunch", the Red Hat Society, the "Singles group" and her German girlfriends. She loved each of you - she loved Carbon County. Also, the staff of Heirloom Inn and the blessed women at Evergreen Residential Care.
In memory of Joye, please consider a donation to the Carbon County Humane Society (294 North Carbon Avenue in Price, Utah 84501) or a no kill animal shelter of your choice. She saved the lives of countless animals, never turning away a lost soul.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013, 10:30 a.m., Ascension St. Matthew's Church (522 Homestead Blvd) in Price. Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Fairview City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of "Joye" online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net

Robert, sorry to find out about the passing of your mother. I'll never forget the time she took all of us down to Big Rock Candy Mountain, great times. She was always very nice to me and I always wished to see and talk with her again. Deepest sympathy for your loss.
