Julie Willden Obituary

Julie Jorgensen Willden

1951-2025

Sandy, UT-It is with the heaviest of hearts, deepest sense of loss, and profound love and appreciation, that we celebrate the life of Julie Willden, who passed away peacefully in her home on June 9th 2025, at the age of 73. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, devotion, and generosity to her family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. She was the heart and soul of our family, offering unwavering love and support.

Julie was born on November 20, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David and Janis Jorgensen. She was the 3rd oldest in her family of seven siblings. Vivacious, playful, and strong willed, Julie lived her life fully and with all her heart. She dedicated herself to anything she did and to her family.

A love story that spanned 40 years began when she met Gary. They married and built a life together full of support, compromise, adventure, and an unbreakable bond.

In her early years, Julie enjoyed golfing, skiing and fun-filled trips to Mexico. Later in life she walked with neighbors, and friends, made new friends in yoga classes, hosted Saturday night dinners with Gary, Karen and Kirstie and had regular lunch dates with best friends Terry and Wendee. Their house was always open and anyone was welcome. Thank you neighbor Mary and neighbor Jenny for your years of care and friendship. She even included the neighborhood dogs as welcome guests and walking partners.

Julie and Gary made family gatherings a priority and ensured that everyone felt loved and celebrated. Decorating for every holiday was Julie's specialty. Every inch of the house was adorned in seasonal garb and color. Holiday decorations will be a forever reminder of her flare.

Julie is preceded in death by her parents, David and Janis, her loving husband Gary, her older brother David and her younger sister Jennifer. She is survived by her siblings Karen, Jeff, Kirstie, Ziggy, her step-daughter, Jennifer. "Aunt Gee" will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews who she loved immensely and cherished the time spent with them.

A celebration of Julie's life and adventures will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 from 12:30-3:00 at Wheeler Historic Farm in the main barn. All who loved and were loved by Julie are welcome to join in celebrating and honoring her beautiful, big-hearted life.

Julie's spirit, laughter, and love will live on in those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves us with cherished memories and a reminder to embrace life with the same joy, dedication and generosity that defined her remarkable journey.

Jorgensen Cousins,
I am so sorry to see that Julie passed away. Growing up I always thought that Julie was one of the coolest and most fun of all the cousins. I remember her tending us when we were kids and trips to California with Julie. She was always the life of the party and had a Great Laugh. My sincere condolences to all of you.

My family came to know Julie through our mother LaRue Roberts who lived across the street. Julie walked my mother“s dog Zoey and took loving care of her after our mother passed away. I loved getting to know Julie and seeing how much Zoey loved her. I am grateful that Zoey was with her to comfort and love her. Julie will be very missed.

Memories made with Julie for many years. She was a good friend, yoga buddy and a good listener. Hopefully she was greeted by Gary at the golden gates.
I miss both of them dearly. Rest in peace dear friend! Sympathy and condolences are being extended to the entire family. Love, Pat Klein
