Kenneth Krey Obituary

Kenneth Russell Krey 1959 ~ 2007 NORTH OGDEN - Kenneth Russell Krey, Jr. passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007 of a sudden heart attack. He was doing what he loved best, playing basketball with his son. He was born May 3, 1959 in Walnut Creek, CA, the son of Kenneth R., Sr. and Margaret Gnehm Krey. He married his best friend and love of his life Heide Predovich on July 16, 1983 in the Oakland LDS Temple. Their next 23 years together were filled with fun, laughter, church service, Mondays on the lake, helping with homework, basketball with the boys, doting on the girls, and family get-togethers, as they were ever devoted to raising their five children. Ken had affection towards music, cars, and all sport, but his passion was water-skiing with his family. He was a member of the Ben Lomond 9th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for the church in the New Zealand Christ Church Mission. His faithful service will forever be an example to his children and all who loved him. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Heide; his children, Kenny (serving an LDS mission in the Germany Frankfurt Mission), Calvin, Cassandra, Jesse, Sarah; and his mother, Margaret. Ken is also survived by his six brothers and sisters and their spouses, whom cherished their little brother. He was adored and considered the Patriarch of Heide's family, who will also feel a great loss. He will be fondly remembered for his calming presence, his gentle demeanor, his big bear hugs, and his playful spirit. He was a gentle soul with a golden heart. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held on Fri., Feb 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 9th Ward Chapel, 575 East 3100 North in North Ogden. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. Contributions to Ken's family may be made to Ken Krey Memorial Fund at any America First Credit Union. Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com

Dear Krey Family

My heart and prayers pour out to you. There are only so many people one shares growing up with and I smile and cherish the memories of Ken. Those memories will never be forgotten. It was a special time for a special group of friends that developed an eternal bond for here and forever. It's wonderful to know it's just a continuation of the journey, until we meet again.

Ken, Heide and family,
Last Sunday when Matt called me to let me know about Ken I've been reflecting on all of the great memories of all of the fun times that I spent with ken and his family. Water sking, Santa Cruz Beach, and all of the baseball, basketball and football games played and watched with Ken and Mike. Ken always played great and had so much fun and in doing so. It made you want to do your best. When Ken and Mike played on the teams I always felt like we had an unfair advantage. Ken, Thank you for your friendship and example of living a life full of love and happiness. You will always be in our hearts and our prayers. Thank you for all of the fantastic memories. I know that your with your Dad and Father in Heaven. All of our Love always. Tom, Cathy and Family

Dear Krey Family
Our children grew up together in the Walnut Creek Stake, spent many fun times together during their high school days and still love to share their stories of those times.

Our prayers go with you, knowing that Ken is with his father and his Heavenly Father, watching over you. We pray for your strength and peace during this difficult time.

Ken, you were such a good man. I really enjoyed working with you the last four years. You were soft spoken, with a wonderful sense of humor, I never heard anything negative come out of your mouth. You set such a good example to all. I'm so sorry for your family, our prayers are with you all. We will miss you so much.

Ken, Heide and Family;
We treasure the fortune of knowing you as dear friends. Ken's strength of character has always been obvious...even all those years ago.

And when Ken met Heide, Matt and I could hear all the girls sigh a bit at the loss of their potential. But Heide won the prize, and you won her. A beautiful couple...wow...and a beautiful family too.

When Kenny was born, I remember Heide calling him little Nephi. And the admiration on Ken's face when he talked of the treasure that Heide had given him. What an awesome father to each. What an awesome example.

Your life is to be celebrated, well done!
God be with you til we meet again.

2 Nephi 2: 24.

Ken, as I thought of you last night, I pondered early childhood memories like the picture of us at probably 5 years old, all with crew-cuts, and my Mom was our Sunday School teacher. You are one of my oldest and dearest friends. Water skiing, snow skiing, Pine View Apartments at BYU...Tom visiting us from Snow College. You must have known that I thought of calling last month. Maybe you had thoughts of old dear friends as well. Bless you with peace, my friend, and the dear members of your family. YOULLL!
