Lauren Powers Obituary
Our beautiful Lauren, 32, beloved sister/daughter, cherished niece/cousin, sincere friend and loving mother, died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Raised in Riverton, Utah and Reno, Nevada, she had recently returned to Utah. She was full of life and was enjoying reconnecting with extended family. She was making tremendous strides in her personal life; we are so proud of you.
Survived by son, DeShaun, brother, Jeremy, sister, Nicole and step-mother, Carla, as well as a large extended family. Preceded in death by father, Marty, mother, Yolanda, and grandmother, Donna (Mémé).
A memorial celebration will be held Tuesday, July 9, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 2654 West Builders Dr. Taylorsville from 11 am. God has gained a beautiful angel! We love you Lauren! Rest in Peace. Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com

Lauren was a very unique individual as we all know she was so full of energy and life it was unbelievable! The times I share with you are unforgettable we always had such a good time even if it was just simply sitting on your bed talking about anything and everything we had some deep conversations that will never be forgotten I loved sitting there watching you paint your beautiful meaningful paintings that you loved to do so much you had such a glow and I will never forget your special strong soul! One of the last thing you said to me before you left to Utah was you needed to be with your son that's what was going to make you happy and that's exactly what you did my friend I'm so happy that your ending days were as happy as they were and you were with who meant to most to you. Lauren, I know you know exactly how I feel and what I'm thinking and I know you're watching over me (so please kick me or do something when u know I'm not doing so well when u know I can do better... Like what we've always done for each other...) girl u know you and I have been thru so much over the years. I've met you thru Chan when I was 16 and ever since then we never stopped hanging out. Even the day you came back for your cats I know I was the last one to see you. The things you told me that day I'll never forget. I'll never forget everything we did. I know you're memory didn't serve you well but it sure did when we made the memories we had together.... But you know it will never be the same when April comes around. Our birthday week will never be the same no more. But don't worry I'll make sure that me and Uaani will celebrate our birthday week every year just like how we planned it.... It kinda sucks that what you and I had recently planned wont be able to come true. Guess they weren't meant to be but it will be when we see each other again. I have so much to say but I think they only allow so much on here. Lol. It doesn't matter coz you know me and the way I feel already. I'm just sad that you left us kinda sooner way sooner than expected ya know?! You had me in a shock the day I found out I'm still I shock until this day. But at least now I have my fairy watching over me right?! Until the day we meet again... I love you so much Lauren....

I remember in highschool how we used to have little parties at my mommas house coz she worked graveyard during the whole weekend and you were always there...and during the day how we'd walk that field that's now a raley's to get to your house...you were one of a kind.those were good times.ill always cherish all the time we spent together good or bad. you showed me that there were sincere n real ppl out here.and you were definitely one of em.i didn't think I was gonna be so torn up about this.just goes to show what effect you had on me.even tho we lost contact a couple years after highschool we somehow managed to reconnect everytime.no matter how long we didn't see eachother.im gonna miss you soo much.i can actually say I loved you like my own sister.and typin this right now is hard for me coz I cant believe your gone.but youll always be in my heart and I still love you.i know your spirit can see all the ppl showin you love and definitely deserve all of it.ill miss you forever and never forget you girl.rest in paradise I know you're in a better place

Lauren was not like everyone else. There was something special about her that set her apart and I think anyone who ever really knew her or shared a moment with her recognized that. Her increased awareness of the sensory world was apparent to me from the beginning. She was very connected to spirit. She was almost... psychic...if that's the right word. Lauren was able see, hear, feel, know things most of us can't. I am certain that she is one of the oldest, most awakened souls and this was her last human incarnation. I think she reached the point of supreme enlightenment from the final lessons she learned in this life and is now an Angel - she won't be back again - she is done learning from the human experience. She graduated. Lauren had a pretty hard life..so hard that most people could not have handled what she endured. In the end she overcame... and that is why she got to go home so young. She was done here. When you looked at Lauren and really communicated with her on a deeper level, looking in her eyes was mesmerizing... like you were looking into her soul and it was 1,000 years old. Maybe she didn't seem like an angel to everyone and her life might not look to some like the final glory on the quest for enlightenment, but I think it was. Even though Lauren was part of an ugly world and the bad environment sometimes dimmed her goodness, she stuck out like a sore thumb and her light never went out. Lauren was partially awakened to spirit while she was still living amongst humans and it made her sparkle. DeShaun's message about their last talk shows that he, too, is wise beyond his years and already in touch with the deeper meaning of life. He knew instinctively the reason he was the last person Lauren talked to that night. He was her last stop. When he told her he loved her no matter what and wasn't mad, he gifted her the very last thing she needed as a human being in order to reach a state of ultimate peace and awakening, at which time God sets you free and you get to go home to spirit. I believe that Lauren's son's life will have a very significant impact on many people before he goes home because to be chosen as Lauren's child and to be given the responsibility and honor of her final awakening... I think he is probably already enlightened and just here to help others on their way, like an angel guiding us the last few steps to paradise. He was certainly Lauren's angel. xoxoxox

Lauren will be missed dearly by a wonderful, loving family whom I have had the distinct privilege of knowing since I was a young boy, and that I consider to be an extended family of my own.
