Lawrence Weinsheimer Obituary

Dec. 17, 1921 ~ Aug. 10, 2013
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Larry and his beloved wife, Rosemary, lived in California and Utah, before moving to Salem, Oregon in 2001.
Larry was a deeply cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who was an incredibly strong source of love, support and guidance for his family.
Larry attended University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in chemistry, with a minor in photography. He enlisted in the Armed Air Forces as a cadet in 1942 and became a bombardier in 1943, flying throughout Europe during World War II. His crew assembled in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1944, where he met Rosemary; they married on May 13, 1945 and were a devoted couple for 63 years.
Larry was a successful business executive during his lengthy career, an active member of the Mormon church, and a generous friend to those in need. He enjoyed walking, cooking, gardening, reading, and delighted children with his self-published Aunt Ezekial stories.
He is survived by his children, Larrie Ann and Gordon Haaglund of Keizer, Oregon, Patricia Weinsheimer of Placerville, California, Diane Weinsheimer of Newport Beach, California, Dennis James Weinsheimer, of Portland, Oregon, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Rosemary, and two daughters, Catherine Jean Morris and Julial Margaret Brandolino.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah, where Larry will be buried next to Rosemary.
Donations can be sent to Willamette Valley Hospice, in Salem, Oregon.

Larrie Ann, I was sad to read about your dad's death. I was your neighbor in Concord, California. I lived across the street from you and your family. I recognized your name in the Salt Lake Tribune. I got my old photo album out and found three pictures of us together. We were in our Easter dresses with white gloves, white hats, white shoes and socks. We were also in Brownies together. My brother, Mel Heaps, remembers you and your family. My dad died in the late 80's and my mom died in 2002 and are buried in Salt Lake. Anyway...take care and we are sorry about the passing of your father. Linda Brunner Irons

Larry was the type of man you hope you get to know. He was the kindest gentleman I have ever met. He had a quick and active sense of humor and was a pleasure to be around.
