Leda Pauline Hanson Thorne 1912 ~ 2010 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" Proverbs 3:5 Leda Pauline Hanson Thorne, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Feb. 25, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah at age 97.Leda was born at her home on March 27, 1912 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to Ola and Bengta Hanson. She married Jesse K. Thorne on February 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1932, she served a mission to the East Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions in Relief Society, Sunday School, Young Women, and Primary, but she loved and excelled at teaching most of all. She shared her faith and testimony through her example and through her actions. Leda taught for 36 years at the State Development Center in American Fork, Utah before retiring. She was known for her love of children and for being a hard worker. She lived most of her life in the Pleasant Grove area, but moved to Bountiful in 1989 to be close to her daughter and was a member of the Bountiful 43rd Ward. Later, she moved to The Inn On Barton Creek in Bountiful and appreciated and enjoyed friendships there as well. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed the beauty of nature. She loved to travel and the excitement of new experiences. Her greatest love was her family. Her grandchildren have special memories of the time she spent with them. Kay Thorne and Janice of Mukilteo, Washington; and a daughter, Maralyn Bone and Brian of Bountiful, Utah. She has 16 precious grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Dear Maralyn and family,

I just wanted to express my condolences to you, on the loss of your sweet mother. Leda was one of my very favorite patients. She was always so appreciative of every little thing that was done for her.
I know she is happy and actively engaged with her family members in the next life. What a truly wonderful woman. I will miss Leda, and always remember her sweet spirit.

Sincerely,
Mikel Curry (hospice)

Dear Keyne, Marilyn, and Kay,

The last time we (Maren, Wayne & Jenny) were leaving Aunt Leda in April 2009, as we were leaving she parted the curtain from her room and waved goodbye to us.

Now we can see in our mind's eye that she is parting the curtains of Heaven and waving to us once again. She is a part of our heart and will be forever and ever. Our memories of her are sweet.
