Leland Larson Obituary

Leland Eugene Larson 92, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Oct. 15, 2013 into the loving arms of his wife Elaine who preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2013. Leland was born March 7, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Otto Ernest and Leota Larson.
Dad married his sweetheart, Elaine Gledhill, on December 21, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. A veteran of WWII, he served proudly in the US Navy. His first ship was the USS Salt Lake City. He retired from the Navy after 34 years of active duty and Naval Reserve. He worked 32 years for the Ken Garff Company and for another 22 years he worked as a security guard and concierge for the Beneficial Life Tower. When not working he could be found fishing with his loving companion.
Survived by children: daughter: Geri Greene; sons: Alden Brent (Janice), David Eric (Elizabeth), Kendall Ray (Lisa), 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services Monday October 21, 2013 at Granger 10th Ward House, 3274 South Hillsdale Drive, West Valley City. Viewing from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Funeral at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Valley View Memorial Park. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com

I started working in the Beneficial Life Tower in 1978 and knew Mr. Larson for many years. He was a very nice person, always helpful and friendly. I am sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to learn of uncle Lelands passing.. I remember when I was little going with my Grandma Shirley (his sister) and visiting him. As well as going with my parents to visit him.
He truely will be missed.
