LoRENE GRONDEL Obituary

LoRene Evans Grondel 1930 ~ 2010 LoRene Evans Grondel, age 80, passed away peacefully at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah on Monday, September 27, 2010. She was born January 19, 1930 in Payson, Utah to Grant Mark Evans and Anna Alfreda Marble Evans. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College. She married John Gerald Grondel on April 22, 1955 in the Logan Utah Temple. LoRene devoted her life to raising her three children and taking care of her husband. She was an active member of the Bountiful 28th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years until her health made it difficult for her to be as active as she wanted to be. She served in many church callings throughout her life. She will be remembered for many things, including her quick wit and her selfless service to others. We will also miss the silly songs that she used to make up and sing for us. LoRene is survived by her three children: Cheryl, Kathryn, and David (Linda); seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brothers: Gordon Evans and Mark (MarLynn) Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband John, and her parents. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N Main St Bountiful, Utah Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel 2285 S 200 W Bountiful, Utah, where there will also be a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment- Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 E Lakeview Drive, Bountiful. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com. The family would like to thank her doctors and the staff in the ICU, Med Surg Unit, as well as the Respiratory Team at Lakeview Hospital for the kind and loving care that they gave our mom. "We love you and will miss you every day."

Please know of our thoughts and prayers for all of you at this time. We were out of town when we learned of Lorene's passing. We certainly would have been in attendance at the services were it possible. We love the Grondels and appreciate our friendship. You are good people. Love from Richard and Luan Hixson.

Kathy,

I just heard about the passing of your dear sweet mother. I am so sorry. I remember when I first met her and how sweet she was. Over the years, she was always so kind and welcoming to me. I loved how she would always reach out to me with her soft hands and say hello. And her laugh was just precious. I wish I could be there to say a proper good bye. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to you.

I send my deepest condloences and sympathies to the family of LoRene Evans Grondel. Lorene was one of my Mutual Teachers when I was a young woman living on 36th Street in Ogden next to George's Market. I have fond memories of her love and devotion to me as my teacher. After my marriage for a time we lived in the same ward and stake as LoRene and her Husband John. The Bountiful 11th Ward and Bountiful East Stake. I know it was just recently that her beloved husband John passed away. I pray the Lord will bless and sustain the family in your loss. My parents were Jay and Erma Andersen. My father passed away at age 80, but my Mom is still alive well and active at age 92. She lives in South Ogden. Sincerely, Jean Andersen Chamberlain.
