Marilyn Thedell Obituary

Marilyn June Kap Thedell

January 31, 1935 - June 20, 2024

Brigham City, Utah-Marilyn Thedell passed away, surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2024. She was born to Heino and Mary Kap in Ogden, Utah during the depression era. She was the fourth child of 13 children: Glenn, Dale, Barbara (Swapp), Marilyn (Thedell), Arnold, Ross, Terry, Robert, Richard, Denise (Provanzano) and Kelly. Kenneth and Carolyn Kap passed at a very young age.

She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She also pursued additional schooling at Stevens Henager College.

She married Lenard Heseltine in 1953. They had a set of twins, Cherly Ann and Carolynn that died shortly after birth. They raised two children: Scott L. Heseltine and Jana Griffis. She and Lenard later divorced.

She found love again with Norman Thedell, he was the love of her life. They were married on October 31, 1979, and moved to Texas for Norm's employment with the government. He later retired. He passed away on March 1, 2021.

They settled in Fort Worth, Texas where they found a love for antiques. They started their own small business: "Thedell's Antique Restoration", restoring over 10,000 pieces of furniture and were one of the original "pickers".

In 1999, they moved to Brigham City, Utah, to be closer to their families. They bought a 100 year old home and filled it full of restored furniture and beautiful treasures.

Marilyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions and had a strong faith in God.

Norm and Marilyn shared the past 7 years with their granddaughter Jodee and their close family.

She was known for her attention to detail and strong work ethic, which she instilled upon her children.

Marilyn is survived by her 2 children and 3 step-children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The sweetest lady.
I looked forward to servicing her water treatment equipment these 15 years.
We would sit and chat quite a while.
Visiting with her and Norm was always educational.
Always felt welcome in their home.. God bless, Tell Norm hello.
