Marion Tedesco Obituary
Marion, known as Nancy to her friends and family, was born on December 20, 1926 to Ned and Rachel Bowman in Salt Lake City. She graduated from East High School then went on to graduate from the University of Utah. For a period of time after college she was "Miss Nancy" on Romper Room.
She married Jim Tedesco in 1957; he passed away tragically in 1969. Independently, she raised her three children. Nancy took great pride in her children and their achievements. She kept a spotless and well organized home. She performed many "do-it-herself" projects, including sheet rocking, painting, and wallpapering while maintaining a meticulous yard with flower gardens.
Baking, sewing and family parties were very important to Nancy. Pumpkin bread and apple squares were two of her specialties. She was known for her brightly colored net "scrubbers" and her Easter "Bunny Cake".
Nancy is survived by her daughters: Terry Divoky (Dennis) West Glacier, MT; Nancy Mecham, Salt Lake City, UT; and son, Jim Tedesco (Karin) Frostburg, MD; and seven grandchildren Ryan Warren (Melissa), Dylan Warren (Leslie), Megan Mecham Derbidge (Adam), Guy Mecham Jr. (Lindsey), Cami Chambers, Jami Tedesco Murray (Matt), and Scott Tedesco (Felicia); and twelve great grandchildren. Nancy is preceded in death by her three older brothers Jack, Raymond, and Ralph.
The family would like to thank the following: her best friend, Beth Ulibarri, and Darrell Smith for all their support, Alta Ridge Memory Care in Sandy, UT and Lisa Barr from Millcreek Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Nancy. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at the Magnolia Grove Reception Center located at 1117 S Jordan Pkwy W, South Jordan, on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Her final resting place will be at the Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum.
