MARY SAUER Obituary

Mary Alis Sauer 1924 ~ 2010 Surrounded by her loving family, Mary passed quietly away on March 19, 2010, in Sandy, UT. Mary was born March 27, 1924 in Clarksville, TN to Charity and Noel Lemmons. She was raised in Birmingham and Gadsden, AL, graduating from Gadsden High School. She attended Shorter College in Rome, GA obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Music and History. She continued her education by attending Julliard in New York City before obtaining her Master's Degree in Piano Performance at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in OH. It was at the Cincinnati Conservatory that she met her husband, Paul R. Sauer, and they were married June 21, 1950 in Gadsden, AL. They made their home in Fort Bragg, Palo Alto, San Jose, and Yuba City, CA. before retiring and moving to Sandy in 1990. Mary enjoyed many interests including music, history (particularly the Civil War), Geology, Literature, Art, and Poetry. She leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend of nearly 60 years, Paul, and her children, Nancy Cahill (Jim), Paul Sauer II, David Sauer, and five grand-children, Paul III, Stasha, Corianne, Maggie, and Emily. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT. Viewings will be held Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.larkincares.com
