Michael Palmer Obituary

1987 ~ 2014
Michael Palmer was called home into the loving arms of his Father in Heaven on August 30, 2014. He suffered complications at Davis Hospital, while being treated for pancreatitis, which is painful but not life-threatening.
Michael was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Randy and Cindy Palmer. He was the youngest with three older sisters, Cristy Shields, Jamie Palmer-Ormsby, Kelli Stephens and one older brother, Jeffery Palmer, who preceded him in death. From the day he was born Michael was a fighter. He survived multiple surgeries always a twinkle in his eye.
He adored his dog Buddy. Friends will miss seeing them roam the neighborhood together. He was also passionate about, collecting "lost dog" posters, fishing, hunting, camping, taking baths, volunteering with animal control (whether they liked it or not), Facebooking friends and making people laugh. When Michael was excited about his job he was a very hard worker.
Family was more important to Michael than anything else. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a nephew and a friend and will be greatly missed, until we meet again.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Northridge Ward Chapel, 1885 N. Summerwood Drive, Farmington, UT. There will be a viewing Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, UT and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment- Farmington City Cemetery.

Dear Cindy, Randy and Family, I received a call today from Bickley family about Michael's death and wanted to send you all a hug from his old nurse from the NICU at Primary Children's. I lived in Bluffdale so was able to enjoy seeing you all occasionally and spending some days with him. I still remember Michael coming to see me one Halloween as a chocolate chip cookie!! What a character! Heaven will never be the same with his energy! He will be getting everyone "on track." I still remember when you told me that he de-cannulated himself AT the hospital. There was & is no way of stopping Michael--a young man with a mission and idea of what he wanted! From reading his obituary I still see your family's strong family love. You have always been amazing in your ability to keep going! What a blessing Michael has been for your family and what a blessing you each are in his life. I look forward to seeing Michael--"in training" for some calling in heaven! I can only imagine what he has to do--it gives me chills to think of who he really is! Humbling to an old gal like me! My love and hugs to each of you!

My heart goes out to your family, along with thoughts and prayers. I don't know you but this caught my eye. My son died of this same thing 8 months ago today. Was also born the same year. Hard to let them go. God bless your family.

Mike is the only person I ever let call me "Jessie". Any time I tried to remind him about something or tell him something he didn't want to hear he'd respond with a "but Jessie!" which I'd always respond with "Yes Mikey?" and then another "But Jessie!" and so on. My days at work are definitely not the same with my constant companion sitting beside my desk many days a week from the time he got home until I left for the day. It's nice to share the fun stories that illustrate just how delightful Mike could be, but I was lucky that my relationship with Mike went beyond just fun and joking around. He was a true friend and I'm going to miss him. To the many members of the Palmer family, thank you for allowing Mike to be a part of my life and Wide Horizons. I'm so sorry for your loss.
