MICHAEL PRATT Obituary

Michael S. Pratt 1954 ~ 2009 Michael Sherman Pratt, 55, was an amazing son, sweetheart, brother, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed. He was born in Heber City, Utah on August 11, 1954 to Karl (Roy) and Jackie Pratt and died at home in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications of pneumonia. Mike loved and was loved by his family. He loved to tease and take care of his sisters and enjoyed golfing and hunting with his brothers. More recently he loved to fish with his sweetheart Peggy and her granddaughters. He also loved to play pool and Smess. While he battled his own demon -alcohol- he was always trying to help others to better their lives. He was a wonderful son and brother and always made us feel safe and loved. He graduated from Box Elder High School then served in the US Navy for eight years. He served in a variety of situations from a submarine to the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. He routinely received high commen-dations for his leadership abilities and performance of duties from his superior officers. He was a genius in electronics and when it came to computers there was nothing he could not do. He is survived by his mother Jackie Pomel Pratt Maynard, his sweetheart Peggy Pearson, his brothers Steven (Roxane), Terry (Cindy), Alan (Tracy), and sisters Deborah (Will Webster), Kathy (Russell James), Becky (Will McGarvey) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father David Maynard, baby sister Mary Sharon, and nephew Curtis James who we are sure were there to greet him. Funeral services will be on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Knoll Park LDS chapel, located at 460 West State Road 198, Salem, Utah. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. or Monday at the church from 9:45 til 10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkerfamilymortuary.com

"If it's not Fun; we don't do it." I learned this phrase from Mike while working with him in the 1980's at University Hospital at the University of Utah. It has become my mantra. I learned from Mike that we need to have fun in all we do. If something is not "fun" in itself, we can alway make it fun for ourselves and for others. Life is too short to not have some fun every day. Right, Mike? Be happy, my friend.
