Michael Jay Swenson

Michael Jay Swenson passed away June 21, 2012 in Blanding, Utah.
Michael was born May 2, 1961 in Monticello, Utah to Morris J Swenson and Constance Gay Little. Michael's children have been raised in South Jordan and Bountiful; he has been living in Blanding the past four years.
Michael's children were his life and he was extremely proud of them and loved them. They are what kept him going. Michael loved to learn and could be found going through manuals of all kinds. He could fix anything. Michael had a huge heart, loved everyone and was willing to help anyone. Michael was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he loved the gospel and its teachings.
Michael graduated from San Juan High School in 1979 and was an excellent athlete. He played football and was named second team all-state his junior year and first team all-state his senior year. Michael also wrestled and placed 2nd two years running in the state tournament. Michael earned a wrestling scholarship to Weber State College after serving an L.D.S. mission to Dearborn, Michigan.
Michael worked for UDOT as a material specialist; he also held other material testing jobs. Most recently he was doing IT work for those in Blanding.
Michael leaves behind his parents, Morris and Connie Swenson Blanding, Utah. His children, Ashley Swenson (Kael) Pope South Jordan, Ryan Swenson and his fiancé Kayla Crawford West Point, Zachary Thomson, Merissa Thomson Bountiful. Brothers, Blair (Paula) Lehi, Craig (Heidi) Blanding, Jim Pleasant Grove, sisters, Linda (Alan) Larson Blanding and Barbara Swenson Moab, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother John Swenson.
Michael was buried in Blanding, Utah on June 26, 2012. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
