Mildred Funderburk Obituary

Mildred Aldridge Funderburk 6/21/22 ~ 9/3/03  Mildred Aldridge Funderburk, 81, passed away September 3, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Born in Stanley County, NC, the daughter of J. F. Aldridge Senior, and Dasie Simpson Aldridge, youngest child in a family of 10. Preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Survived by husband Bill Funderburk, daughter Debra Funderburk, brother Victor Aldridge Sr. of Silver City, NC, and several nieces and nephews. After her school years in Stanley County, NC, she moved to Charlotte, NC where she was employed at the Hudson Hosiery Mill. In 1944 she met Bill Funderburk at which time he was serving in the military with the 12th Armored Division. After his discharge in early 1946, they were married in Charlotte, NC on June 28, 1946. After marriage, they moved to Grand Junction, CO where Bill was associated with his brother in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning business. In 1978 they moved to Salt Lake City, UT. Five years later, Mildred was employed with Luziers, Inc., in Kansas City, MO. She later became a district manager, training sales people in several counties north of Denver, including the Grand Junction and northern part of the state. Prior to Mildred's illness, she was a very kind and loving mother and a very active member of the Holladay Baptist Church. Mildred was always laughing and joking and never knew an enemy, and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by all family and friends in North Carolina, Colorado, and Utah. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Mon., Sept 8, 2003 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment: Wasatch Lawn Mausoleum.
