Myron Larsen Obituary
Myron Don Larsen passed away from lung cancer on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Las Animas, Colorado.
Born in SLC on July 30, 1956, Myron had a happy childhood living with the family in Texas, Germany, Hawaii, Georgia and Japan. After graduating from Zama American High School, Japan, Myron moved to Atlanta, GA where he joined the U.S. Army. During his stressful tenure in the army, Myron experienced the tragic onset of schizophrenia. Despite his condition, Myron related well to those around him. He was a real gentleman, always polite and generous and never complained about ailments which would arise. He loved his family and eagerly anticipated visits and would remind the staff several times a day that "My family is coming to see me!" He would ask to go to a steak dinner somewhere or fishing at Lake Hasty, or anything he could be driven to. He loved his breakfasts at the Village Inn in La Junta.
Myron has been under the care of several care centers administered under the V.A. and other agencies. We would especially like to thank the doctors and personnel at the V.A. Hospital in Denver CO, and all the wonderful and caring staff at Prairie View Care Center and Bent County HealthCare Center, both in Las Animas. Myron loved all his friends in Las Animas and La Junta and will be missed greatly.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Don and Roswitha Erika Larsen. Survived by brother Rolf (Lucinda) Larsen, sisters Kristine (Bryan) Parrish and Denise (Alan) Tribble and four nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on September 15 at 1:00 PM.
