Nicholas Houle Obituary
1993 - 2022
Salt Lake City, Utah—Our beloved son and brother, Nicholas (Nick) Peter Houle, a Systems Architect and resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on June 3, 2022 at the age of 29.
Nick was born in Ogden, Utah on February 27, 1993 and when he was 7 years old the family moved to Hilton Head Island, SC. He graduated from Hilton Head High School and then attended the University of Utah's Computer Science program. He was hired by Instructure as a software engineer and he enjoyed 6 successful years at Instructure as a full stack developer. He moved on to Lendio as a Senior Software Engineer and was promoted to a System Architect while there.
Nick truly lived life to the fullest. He was a very charismatic, generous, and caring person and went out of his way to help others. He loved taking care of his beautiful backyard and cooking with his meat smoker. He also loved all things computers, spending time with friends and enjoying the outdoors. He is deeply missed by his family and friends.
Nick is survived by his parents; Matthew Houle and Lisa (Kurgan) Houle; his sister Jacqueline Houle; his grandfather Peter Kurgan and grandmother Shirley (Daigle) Kurgan. He is predeceased by his grandfather Marcel Paul Houle and grandmother Lois (Jackson) Houle.

This is such a shock! Nick and I spent a while on an engineering team together at Instructure. After shipping a particularly tough feature we all took the day off together to go skiing at Snowbird and had a blast.
He was always kind and cracked the team up playing us off one another for jokes.
Man, I'll miss him!
