1928 ~ 2023

Nita Laraine James Smith passed away on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at the age of 95.

Born January 5, 1928 to Charles M. James and Myrtel Arabell Johmson in Vernal, Utah. Graduated from Uintah High School. Married Bert H. Smith on April 30, 1946 later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Nita was an Ordinance Worker at the Jordan River Temple. She was a member of the DUP.

Survived by two sons and two daughters, Ron (Pam) Smith, Richard Smith, Marilyn (Carter) Ames and Colleen (Bill) Devenish. She had 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Bert H. Smith, her parents and two brothers.

Visitation is Tuesday, February 7th from 6-8pm at Valley View Mortuary. Graveside Service is Wednesday, February 8th at Noon. Interment is in Valley View Memorial Park.
