Patsy was born 01/4/1937, in Salt Lake City to Walter and Muriel Phillips. She grew up on Sheridan Road with her parents and sister Carol, where open fields stretched all the way to St. Mary's of the Wasatch. Childhood was magical - spent exploring creeks, chasing butterflies, and playing with her best friend, Carolyn Jennings. Her childhood dog, Daisy May, was always by her side. Summers at Brighton and Como Springs created joyful memories.

She married her high school sweetheart, Kurt Johansen, in 1955. Together, they raised five children and shared a lifetime of family adventures - boating, camping, and celebrating holidays rich with tradition. Patsy was a devoted mother whose warmth and presence made everyone feel cherished.

Patsy served faithfully in her church community as a counselor in two Primary presidencies and later as Primary President. It was a meaningful time in her life, filled with service and friendships.

One of Patsy's greatest passions was music. She was a regular at live shows and proudly supported her son Keven, a professional jazz guitarist and professor of jazz history. She often spoke of seeing Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole in concert. Patsy traveled to New Orleans twice with her daughters to immerse herself in the city's musical soul.

Patsy was truly one of a kind - loving, generous, and unforgettable, just like Louis Armstrong's famous song. She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Kurt; children Aaron (Cathrine), Linda (John), and Scott (Cortney); son-in-law Bill; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved children Keven (Elaine) and Shawna.
