To the Dahl Family, My privilege was to serve with Paul in the Finnish Mission. He was the District leader in the Swedish District and I was the Helsinki District leader. One summer we had a work conference in Larsmo to update this first chapel in Finland as part of the Swedish District. Paul was the cook for the 20 hardworking Elders. He called Jacobstad the nearest town and ordered 8 liters of milk to be dropped off by the milk wagon. The wagon came and dropped off 80 liters and was gone.We wondered if Paul wanted us to bathe in milk? Well with no refrigeration for such a large quantity and with missionary ingenuity we got a long rope and dropped it down a well until it could be picked up by the Horse drawn milk wagon the next day. Elder Dahl served a wonderful mission and was well loved by the Saints and missionaries. God bless his family Al Anderson

Bro. Paul while serving in Eugene,Oregon increased my hunger to study the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also gained a love for the Apostle Paul due to Bro. Paul's teaching. I still have the memeograph? notes that he gave out in class. I've never forgotten Bro. Paul or his wife Shirley and their young sons running around the old house that served as the institute bldg on the campus at the U of O. Thanks to all his family for sharing with us your DAD.
My heart goes out to all his family at this tender time of his passing. May we all rest assured of seeing him when we cross over the veil.
Love always,
Diana Antone

To the Dahl family.
Brother Dahl, early in his career, taught us in seminary and institute in Cedar City in the 1950's. His love for the gospel and his students has remained with us through the years. We will mourn with you at his loss but rejoice over his knowledge and love of the Plan and know we will all look forward to being with him again. (as an aside, a small perk of knowing him occurred when we met his brother who, at the time was working at the gate in the airport, and when we saw his name on his badge asked if he knew Paul. We had a nice conversation and he upgraded us to a First Class seat!) We want you all to know his influence is still felt. We send our love and thanks. Dr. E. Reed and Eleanor Heywood, Charleston. Dear Dahl Family:
I was sorry to hear of Paul's death and want you to know our love and prayers will continue to be with you and your great family. Paul was a great influence upon our family as he served as our Stake President and as our families enjoyed each others friendship. We enjoyed being in their home and enjoyed their children being in our home. May you feel our Savior's love and be blessed with precious memories.

We remember Paul's wonderful teaching when he was director of the Cambridge Institute of Religion. He influenced many students who had come to Boston to study. This is another of his many legacies.

Our family has wonderful memories of Paul and Shirley Dahl. When he was Stake President in Tucson, he called me to be Stake Relief Society President. His wife, Shirley, taught piano lessons to our sons, and we loved them both dearly. I also took gospel classes from him; what a great teacher, and a greater example!! We send our love, condolences, and deepest sympathy to his family. We didn't ever get to meet Phyllis, but know she will miss him terribly.

My dad, Rex Sandberg served with Brother Dahl in Finland. I met Brother Dahl at several mission reunions when I was younger. Dad often spoke of him and of his great admiration for him. They had a lot in common, both born in Murray, dad was born Sept. 14, 1927, both served in Finland, both married wonderful ladies. Dad passed away on December 19th, 2010 so I'm sure they are together now doing one thing they both loved...missionary work. I uploaded some pictures from their mission in Finland. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Bro. Dahl was my instructor at the LDS Institue of Religion at CSU (now SUU) inCedar City, Utah. I took several classes from him and remember him as a wonderful instructor with a great sense of humor and love of the Gospel even though that was half a century ago. He was a great influence in my life, helping me keep grounded in Gospel principles while
facing my first years away from home. I will never forget him. My condolences to his family.

Phyllis--We were saddened to read of Paul's passing and pray that you will be comforted by the memories of the time you had together. We really were not aware of all the remarkable things Paul had accomplished in his life. No wonder you were attracted to each other!
