Ralph Kramer Obituary

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and dear friend, Ralph, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on January 3, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 7, 1930, in Salt Lake City, UT to William Frederick and Helen Gruben Kramer. Ralph married his eternal companion, Nancy Christensen, in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1955 and together they raised six children.
Ralph graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission, helped to build his first chapel and baptized his golden family, the Gulbransons. During his lifetime, he served faithfully in many callings, but loved working in the Area Sports Program and with the youth, many of which he employed. He left a lasting impression on countless people.
In 1958, he started his own construction company as a general contractor, and for 60 years he built custom homes, churches, many structures for the Hogle Zoo and his apartments in Provo. Highlights of his career were the restoration and addition of the Tabernacle in Randolph, UT as well as designing and developing RWK Industrial Park.
Dad was an avid Utah fan and proud to be the first flag waiver at the football and basketball games. He loved spending time with his family and close friends enjoying sporting events, traveling, golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards, watching movies and attending the theatre. He especially loved Bear Lake and St. George.
He is survived by his children, Marshall, Denise (Gary) Jones, Blake (Wendy), Drew (Machele), Karalee (Blaine) Olson, Garrett (Nichole), sister-in-law Dale Martinez, brother-in-law Derek Short, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his "Dear Sweet Nancy", his parents and his brother, Hyrum.
We wish to thank Dixie Regional Medical Center for the care they provided for Dad.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m., at the Holladay 24th Ward, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). Friends and family may visit on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and also at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to the funeral. Marsh,
How sorry I did not know about your folks passing. I guess I was busy caring for or laying Mom & Dad to rest at the same time:( I still have the quilt your sweet darling Mom & you made for me that Christmas & I would move mountains to find that Lemmon & Baby Powder Sprays I look back on those times as hot tears run down my cheeks..We sure knew how to laugh & have fun. I still do, not sure if you got old & grumpy, I didn't & can still whack a softball like most men, buy, train & sale horses in retirement & am a hunting fool! Some nice mounts hang, this year fingers crossed I get my big Desert Buck. I ran into your cute sister at Sports Wharehouse, bawled all the way home. Would love to hear from or see you & laugh about fun times. Look for me on FB if care to chat. I know the ongoing heartache of loosing your loving parents & my best friends, hoping you & your family are getting along ok, we both sure were blessed & lucky to have the folks & lives we did...Sending a warm embrace, hope to hear from you.Leslie

To Ralphs family and posterity: I am so sorry for your loss of your Father, Grandfather and Great Grandpa!
I loved Ralph and I cant tell you how grateful I am to have know him. Ralph was there for me in one of my most difficult times, he reached out and went to bat for me and my family to help raise money to help our family during one of my greatest life trials. This one act of love Im sure was just a small thing to him, but it left a lifetime impression on me and my children!
His fun personality and wit will be greatly missed. And of course the greatest Ute Fan of all time!!!! Go fly that flag high Ralph!

Ralph, you are certainly going to be missed. You were such an incredible man that absolutely loved his family. I will always have the best memories of Bear Lake and all the hunts Marshall and I went on with you. Your compassion for others will always be remembered. Kyle could not of had a better grandpa than you, and you were always so kind and loving to Chelsee. I will be eternally grateful for everything you taught Kyle and knowing that he will be able to pass down your knowledge to his kids one day. So happy that you will finally be with your soulmate Nancy for all time and eternity.

Karlyn and Chelsee Weston.
