1949 ~ 2014
Raymond J Felix, 64, died of mesothelioma on December 1, 2014. He was born to Leo and Utahna Felix in Provo, Utah, on December 30, 1949. He graduated from Springville High School in 1968 and earned a bachelor of science from BYU in 1975.
Ray worked many years as a carpenter, building two homes for his family along with countless others. He was employed for 18 years as facilities manager at Novell.
He was a devoted member of the LDS church. He served in the Southwest Indian mission, Navajo speaking, from 1969 to 1971. He accepted and magnified many callings. His love of the Savior was apparent in the way he lived.
Raymond married Susan Smeath in the Provo Temple on March 1, 1974. Susan died of cancer in 1988, and Ray was left to raise their six children. He married Pamela Turley, bringing four more children to the family, and they added one more. Ray was a caring and supportive father to all eleven, leaving an indelible example of loving parenthood. Ray and Pam later divorced. In 2006 he married Michele Skinrood.
Ray enjoyed being with his family, cheering for the BYU football team, and participating in community theater, where his love of humor and a good old play on words shone through in both his acting and his writing. He was the definition of humility, kindness, and dedication, and his family will miss him greatly.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Glade. He is survived by his wife, Michele, brothers Lavar and Jan, sister Geniel, and children: Michael (Kimberly), Amy (Jeremy Stewart), Gregory (Emily), Daniel (Courtney), Rebecca (Dave Reimann), Rachel (Josh Walker), Devin, Richard Martin (Laurette), Chris Martin, Jeffrey (Briana), and Katie (Kameron Kasparian). He has 22 grandchildren with three more on the way.
