Richard Stirland Obituary

Richard Thomas Stirland Jr. 12/18/49-10/17/02  Richard Thomas Stirland Jr. passed away peacefully in Escondido, CA., on October 17, 2002 after a lingering illness, with family at his side. Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 18, 1949 to Richard Thomas Stirland Sr. and Maxine Erskine Stirland. He graduated from West High School and attended Weber State College. Richard served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1977, and was stationed on the carrier USS Independence. He married Susan Lockhart and had a daughter, Ashley Nicole and a son, Ian. Later divorced. Married Rose Nielson with whom he had a daughter, Laurie. Later divorced. Married Pamela Lindgren. Richard is survived by his wife Pamela, her sons, Lance and Travis Vandongen, his children, Ashley Nicole, Ian, and Laurie, his sister, Vicky (Tim) Waller, brother, David (Bethann), nephew, Nathan, brother, Sean (Karen), niece, Shannon and nephew, Chance, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Holden, son of David and Bethann. All friends and relatives of Richards are cordially invited to an open house in celebration of his life, to be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday November 30, 2002, at Vicky's home in South Jordan.
