Robert Blonquist Obituary
1937 - 2022
Holladay, Utah-Robert P Blonquist, or Bob as most of the world knew him, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2022. Bob was born August 2, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Seth and Irma Blonquist. After high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a hospital corpsman in the United States Marines. He rose to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer, and after active duty, continued to serve as a reservist until he retired from the military in 1994. After active duty, Bob graduated from Utah State University and began his career as a medical technologist at the University of Utah and later worked for the VA Medical Center. In 1967, Bob met the love of his life, Lona Jane Bindbeutel, and they married in 1968. Bob and Lona went on to have two sons, Robert L and Ryan, and built a beautiful life in Holladay, Utah.
Bob was an avid sports fan and passed that love on to his sons. You could always find him ready to cheer for the Utes, Yankees, and Cowboys. Bob had a mischievous sense of humor and was always ready to regale an audience with stories of his adventures in the military. He loved to travel and visit extended family in Coalville, Utah but his focus throughout his life remained on Lona and his boys.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert L (Lyndsy) and Ryan (Jamie). He was preceded in death by his wife, Lona, his parents, brother, and sister. Details regarding a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Well Bob it's been a year. More and More of your generation has come to join you in the here after. It's hard to believe how fast this existence passes us all by. In the wink of an eye we are back where we came from, a little bit richer from our time here. It was good to know you a bit. Best wishes to your family.
