Robert Budd Obituary

Robert Wallace Budd

June 5, 1928 - July 3, 2024

Salt Lake City, Utah-Robert passed away peacefully in his home after a long and well fought battle with old age.

He lived his entire life in Salt Lake and attended South High. While in high school he left for time to join the American Merchant Marine in the Pacific to do his part in WWII. After high school he married and started family. With job and family commitments he attended night classes to learn the accounting skills that would lead him to start and serve a president of Diamond Credit Union. He had three great passions in his life: family, golfing, and traveling to golf. His "me time" was reading, mostly Louis L'Amour and W.E.B. Griffin novels.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, May LaVell. He is survived by his children Kathryn Budd, Kristine Mackay, Karen Swan, Robert C. Budd, and Wallace G. Budd; plus 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Condolences on the passing of Uncle Bob. You would have thought that he had Grandma Jensen's genes. I always enjoyed our childhood interactions. Sorry for your loss. Cousin Doug

Hi to the Buds family. This is Sue Jensen, I was married to your cousin Dave. I have so many good memories of your family. Most of them centered around your grandmother Jensen. I think the last time I was in your parents home was for a birthday celebration. I did not know your mother had passed. She was a remarkable caretaker for her mother. I very much admired your mother. she was such a kind and thoughtful woman. She made a Christmas stocking for my oldest son Scott after he was born. I am sorry about your dad, he certainly lived a long good life. Love Sue jensen
