I missed the opportunity to meet him when he visited my Grandparents and Mother in the late 1950s or early 1960s. I'm the son of Charles J. Moses, the pilot of Bob's (as my father and mother knew him) B-17. His letters after the war and his visits were a great comfort to my family. I'm sure those visits must have been hard on him but they certainly showed his selflessness and that he continued to do what he felt was his duty long after the war. My sympathies to the family as I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

To the Humphreys Family;
I remember listening to Bob as he told about his experience during WWII. He was the last of three "Garfied POWS" to pass on. I enjoyed the company of these hero's as we sat down for breakfast in Lake Point, and listened as the group of "Romeo's" talked about the war and the old town of Garfield. He will be missed.

To the family:
I remember talking to Bob about his experience during WWII. He will be missed, but I will always remember him as one of the three "Garfield POWS". I enjoyed listening to the stories of the "Romeo" club out at Lake Point. A fellow Garfield resident.

We loved Bob, and will miss him greatly. He always asked where "on the road again" was, and when he would be home. He always wanted to know what he could do for me, and always reminded me to call him if I needed him. True friends are a blessing, and we will all have one less friend with Bob's passing. He will be missed by us all. Kathy & Dallas Richardson, W Valley City, UT

To the family of Bob Humphreys:
Bob was my best man, when I was married to Shirley Butters in October 1945, and we remained the best of friends through all of these years. He often mentioned July 24, 1946, when he, Wanda, Shirley, and I spent a picnic together in Liberty Park after the parade. Since 1997, Bob and I were drawn closer together, because we spent time in a weekly VA PTSD group meeting, and in a semi-weekly POW rap group, and we always attended the yearly POW luncheons at the Airport Hilton. Whenever he would call me on the telephone, hiw first words were always, "Ray, what can I do for you?" Just his telephone call was all I ever needed. I am going to miss "my buddy' very much.
