Robert Herman Krey Sr.

Robert Herman Krey, Sr. 10/13/1913~1/5/2003  On Sunday, January 5, 2003, Robert H. Krey, age 89, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother and friend passed away peacefully of natural causes. He was born in Ogden on October 2, 1913 to Robert Herman Krey and Anna Marie Beutler.  He lived many years in Ogden where he met his sweetheart, Virl Effie (Boots) Drysdale.  They were married on June 14, 1935 and later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple February 14, 1968.  They moved to Clearfield in 1958 where they lived the rest of their lives. His wife, kids and grandkids were the focus of his life.  He loved to sing to them, teach them things and joke around with them. He was always there to help them. He was an excellent sheet metal engineer working first for Williamson's Body and Equipment and then for Superior Air Handling. He retired at age 67. Robert Krey was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Clearfield 3rd Ward where he served well in many capacities.  He especially loved the youth of the church and was a dedicated Scout Master for many years. He was a faithful home teacher and enjoyed attending the temple. He collected and beautifully restored antique cars for many years and he and his family could always be seen driving several of his cars in the Clearfield or Ogden parades. His favorite activity was bowling which he did weekly until the age of 87. He also enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. He was a real handy man and could fix anything.  He had fun helping his family, friends and neighbors whenever they need his help and expertise.   Robert Krey was a wonderful man who will be sorely missed! Surviving are his wife, Boots, and his children, Robert H. Krey Jr. (DeAnne), Susan Millward (Arlen), Cheri Kraus (Barry), 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and sister, Bernina Kehl. His parents, sister, Edna Fronk and brother, Edward Krey preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Clearfield 3rd Ward Chapel, 231 East 300 North, Clearfield. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
