You will always be in my memories of someone who taught us the gospel of Jesus Christ, of someone who laughed with us, who was so generous to us. Who shared so many precious moments with us. I will always remember you as a kind, thoughtful and fun person and you pop into my mind with those lovely, beautiful memories. Thank you for all you did to bring into our lives such happiness and such wonderful memories.

We will always miss you My two boys did go on to serve missions. One in Greece, the other in South Africa. My eldest gets married this year to his sweetheart from Switzerland. Another family sealed in the temple and so it goes on! The legacy continues because of you and Dave Glauser. Forever in my thoughts. Marie (Holland) Viner xx

I was shocked to hear of the passing of (Elder) Roger Nelson. With his companion Dave Glauser, 'The Holland Family' were taught the gospel and baptised in 1976. I was 10 years old but remember him with fondness, he was witty, charming and very intelligent, I remember us singing 'Blue Moon' during FHE and the sound of 'cowboy's and Indians' that came from the pan of popcorn!, the repeated phrase of "Jet Get Under!" (I guess you had to be there)and I shall be ever grateful for the introduction to Lion bars!! which I still love to this day. He was a lovely spiritual man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

The Holland Clan loved Roger deeply (previous two entries are my sisters). I was distraught to hear of Roger’s passing and concerned that he had some problems in his life. I only wish I had known where he was so we could have exchanged views. I would have tried to help ease his burdens and share his thoughts. I am grateful that he had a caring family and friends along the way and that his passion to enjoy the riches of life in nature, music, theatre and reading brought him much joy. What a loss for all of us! I love you Roger. It is not easy losing a loved one, especially your brother. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family.

Words aren't always enough to express what you feel - Roger (Elder Nelson) came to Manchester, England on his mission, 32 years ago now, and found what he and his companion (Elder Dave Glauser) called their 'golden family' - that was me, my mum and my 4 sisters.
We had a great time learning the gospel with them! Lots of laughs and fun. Roger was a wonderful teacher with thoughtful insights and a deep testimony. I came to the States in 1979 and surprised him at the BYU library - I can still remember the look of shock on his face and then a big beaming smile! He took me around and we had a fun time. Roger was the one who told me to go to university and get a better education, he was the first one to believe in me and I thank him for that. My life was changed forever by knowing him - what more can I say? Roger was 'golden' to me - and will always be in my heart and memories. My thoughts and prayers go to his family at this time.

I just received an email from Dave Glauser, he was the missionary that baptised me. Roger was the companion of Dave and served his mission in Manchester, England. Roger baptized my mum and two other sisters. I want to send my condolences and say what a wonderful person he was. Dave and Roger changed our lives for the better by bringing us the Gospel. I will be forever in debt and grateful for their sacrifce and their testimonies. I served a mission myself in Hong Kong, have been married in the Temple and have two beautiful future missionary boys. Thanks Roger for the memories!!

Roger is a great guy and I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to stay in touch for at least a decade or more. I remember that one of Roger's dreams was to start a Tomato Farm near Monticello. I hope that someday that dream can be fulfilled. I'll also think of him when ordering the Rhubarb Pie in Bicknell.

What a loss to us all...Roger was part of my "Cosmic Aeroplane" days and in recent years I saw him continually at the downtown library. I'll miss his keen wit and ready smile for me.

Roger Nelson was a gift to all that knew him- his was smart, kind, funny, honest, had the best laugh and used it often. Roger spent last summer upgrading my back yard and he put together a masterpiece known as the cranium- it is a wonderful place to gather with friends and family- i enjoy it everyday- I will always have some of Roger in my yard- How cool is that?
