Roger W Simmons of West Jordan Utah. Born on November 11,1957. Passed away January 16, 2022, after a valiant battle from illness. Roger or Rodge as known by those close to him, was born in Marin, CA. As a child he moved to Midvale, UT. He graduated from Hillcrest High. He met Debbie his soon to be companion of 40 years while working with her. It was ironic, he had seen her years before in high school and always wanted to ask her out. His wish came true when they married and started a life together. They had dreams of retiring to Joseph, Utah. He became dad, mentor and friend to her 3 young boys. He raised them and taught them through challenging times to be good men. He earned the title of dad with his daughter in-law Shell. He was the family's rock and strength with the passing of Jeremiah, one of their son's. It was said, "There was a magical connection the first time he held his grandson, Adante." The two are connected souls and his greatest pride was to be each other's everything. He was papa. Always had a love of activities, bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, treasure hunting, you name it, he did it! He had a unique way of keeping a reserved demeanor, yet to those who knew him, he was outgoing and fiercely loyal. Those who knew him were honored to call him a friend.

We will think of you always. We talk to you still. You are not forgotten and never will be. Your spirit will follow us through all our milestones. We hold you tightly to our heart and there you will remain. Until we meet again.

Preceded in death by father, Edward W. Simmons. Mother, Bonnie McCarthy. Brother, Wesley Simmons and son Jeremiah Darling.

Survived by wife, Debbie Simmons. Sons, David Darling (Andrea), Daniel (Rachelle Darling). Brother, Marty Simmons, Sister, Cindy Ausick, and his grandson, Adante Quinn Darling.

Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Serenity Funeral Home 13863 South 2700 West, Bluffdale UT 84065.

Hey Deb just saw this so sorry
Roger and I were best friends growing up from 4th grade on
Until about 40 yrs old we lost track of each other along the way but never stopped thinking of him

I worked with both Debbie & Roger at NSSL. I worked directly with Roger, he had the patience´s of a saint and the best sense of humor. Debbie I am so sorry to hear of your, and your families loss. May Roger Rest In Peace.

I am sorry for your loss. me and my brother and sister susan grew up with roger in midvale with his brothers wesley and marty and sister cindy he was a great man. lost track of him about 20 years ago I use to love talking about old times when we were kids. he was my brother craigs best friend when we were younger. roger met up with my brother before his passing in 2000 ,i would like to send my condolences to debbie and family.and please say hi to julie and dee from theron jones.
