Ronald Jensen Obituary

Ronald Ray Jensen

1933 ~ 2025

Born February 23, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ronald Ray Jensen returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 2, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Ron was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in numerous callings throughout his life. These included a mission in his youth to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he again returned later with his wife and family to serve as the Mission President. He loved the temple and served there many years as a Temple Sealer and Ordinance Worker. Other callings included Branch President, Elder's Quorum President, Bishop, High Council, Stake Presidency, Stake Patriarch, Ward Mission Leader, Home Teacher and even once pressed into service as the Relief Society President. His unwavering faith and dedication touched the lives of many.
Ron was a proud graduate of East High School, where he was Student Body President and a member of the track and football teams. He also attended the University of Utah and proudly served his country in the Army at Fort Bliss, Texas.
He cherished his sweetheart, Carolyn Jones Jensen, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 16, 1956. Together, they shared over 68 wonderful years and raised four children: Ronald Bryan Jensen (Mary Lynne), Susan Jensen, Michael Ray Jensen (Jennifer), and Jennifer Leigh Jensen Tripp (Steven). Family was the center of Ron's life, and he especially enjoyed making Sunday dinner and traveling with his loved ones. He also had a talent for baking cookies and making his beloved "Rod Grod med Flode pa."
In his early career, Ron along with his father was the owner of Jensen's Market. Later, he established himself as a successful realtor. His most important role was that of husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, caring grandpa and great-grandpa. Ron found his greatest joy in service to his family and the Lord.
Ron was known for his humble, meek, gentle, and kind nature. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was fun to be around. Strong in spirit and a dedicated worker, he was always busy and approached life with grace. He was honest, loyal, and a true example of a humble leader.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Nephi and Myrtle Jensen, siblings Jackson Nephi Jensen, Joyce Myrtle Jensen, Darlene Jensen Snow, Thomas Fenton Jensen, and Karen Louise Jensen Maxwell. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Jones Jensen; his children, 12 grandchildren, Katie, Bryan, Jacob, Emily, Sarah, Megan, Sam, James, Anna, Evan, Abigail and Eli, 10 great-grandchildren, and one more great-grandchild on the way and his siblings Dorothy Ann Jensen Burt and James David Jensen.
