Ronald Rima Obituary

Ronald Leon Rima 1932 ~ 2008 BOUNTIFUL- Ronald Leon Rima, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family August 30, 2008. He returned to his Father in Heaven after many years of battling chronic illness. Ron was born November 8, 1932 to Orioen Marshall "Tude" Rima and Annie Estella Cox. He was the oldest of four siblings. He married Bernice Carpenter on October 6, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they made their home in Bountiful, Utah and had six children. He always worked hard to provide for his family. He served his country spending 18 months in Europe, primarily Germany. He then worked as a brick mason for several years and later laid the brick on the family home. In 1961, he became a police officer for the Bountiful City Police Force working up through ranks to the position of Lieutenant. He then went to work as a Senior Special Agent for the Union Pacific Railroad and retired after 25 years of service. He loved police work and was an excellent investigator. Another passion was being involved with people in need. He was always wise, caring and giving, having a smile, a witty remark or encouraging word for family, friends or strangers alike. He made a positive impact on many lives and is and will always be greatly missed. Ron is survived by his wife; parents; children, Julie (Stephen) Cox, Jon (Shelli) Rima, Laurie (Rick) Dalton, Mark (Shanna) Rima, Jane (Scott) Haslam and Greg (Lori) Rima; siblings, Katherine (Glen) Dunning, William (Alice) Rima and Trudy Rima. He has 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Sat., September 6, 2008 at Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. and Sat. morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. To the entire Rima Family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of working with Ron since 1986. until he left the Railroad Police Department. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his chosen profession, and a great friend. It was a sad day when he left the department.

My deepest sympathy to all the Rima family. I had the pleasure of taking care of your father the last few years at Dr. Sadler's office. He was a true gentleman and always so appreciative of all that was done for him. He loved his family very much and was so kind to all those he came in contact with. He will be missed by all of us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. We always wished we lived closer to Uncle Ron, Aunt Bernice, and all of you. I am grateful for reunions and the times we have had to get to know one another better. The knowledge we have of the Gospel brings much comfort as we know that families are to be together forever. Until we meet again...

With Love,
