Ronald Karl Joseph Theobold (81) passed from this life on Feb. 2, 2022 in Tucson, AZ, where he had resided for over forty years. Beloved for his sense of humor, Ron will be missed by all who knew him. In his youth, he excelled at baseball and taught tennis lessons. Later in life, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family, who will miss him greatly.

Ron was born in Delta, CO, on May 16, 1940, to Clyde and Alma Theobold, the second of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Karen (Cal) Youngreen, Jerry, and Susan (Jim) Anderson. Younger brother Reford (Karen), Grand Junction, CO, survives.

Ron grew up in Delta and Grand Junction, CO, and Hunter, UT, graduating from Cyprus High School in Magna, UT in 1958. He was the proud owner of a classic 1955 midnight blue Thunderbird convertible when he married Velda Jean Bailey in Salt Lake City on August 8, 1961, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Ron and Velda had two children, daughter Annushka CheRee, and son Ronald Steadman. "Steady" died in 1975 from cystic fibrosis at the age of seven.

Ron worked nights for the Kennecott railroad as a brakeshoe repairman while attending Westminister College in Salt Lake City where he played baseball. He graduated in 1962 with a degree in City Management. He taught Sunday School and was a Sales Supervisor for Metropolitan Life from 1966 to 1970. He eventually found his career in construction, relocating to Tucson, where he built the Tucson branch of Progressive Roofing, from the ground up, into the top roofing contractor in Tucson. He successfully managed Progressive from 1987 until his retirement in 2008 and served as president of the Arizona Roofing Contractors Assn in 2004.

Ron is survived by his wife Velda; daughter Annushka (Tad) Hopkins, St Joseph, MO; and granddaughter Anya Hopkins, Kansas City, MO.
