RUDY FELICE Obituary

Rudy Felice 1914 ~ 2011 PRICE-Rudy Felice left this life peacefully February 10, 2011 with his son at his side. He was the oldest son of Frank and Elizabeth Siletta Felice, born on January 9, 1914 in Helper, Utah. As a young man, Rudy was part of the first Balanced Rock Expedition. During World War II he was a service veteran assigned to the "Tough 'Ombres!" Texas/Oklahoma 90th Infantry Division and participated in the D-Day landings at the Utah Beachhead as a forward observer assigned to the 915th Field Artillery Battalion and continued through the end of hostilities (VE-Day). He was awarded two Bronze Stars. He married the love of his life, Jennie Oliveto, July 16, 1947. He owned and operated several businesses through the years, most recently, Rudy's Metro Service in Carbonville, Utah. Rudy loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, ice skater, bicyclist and gardener. He devoted much of his life to the youth in Carbon County. He coached little league baseball and for many years was a Boy Scout leader, receiving the Silver Beaver. He regularly attended the opera and symphony. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, life member of Elks, member of the Moose Club, American Legion and Charter member of Post 2379 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his son Ron (Joan); grandchildren Douglas (Claudette), Johanna (Andy) Barraco, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Maxx, Isabella and Katie Barraco, and Mikenzie Felice; sister Til Davido; brother Frank (Margaret) Marrelli, sister-in-law Molly Marrelli, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny; son Robert; great- granddaughter Mikala; sister Stella Gigliotti; brother Ernie Felice and brother Chuck Marrelli. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price. Vigil service, Tuesday evening 7:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell's Tuesday and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
