Shauna O'Neal Obituary
Our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Shauna O'Neal, was taken home on August 16, 2013.
Shauna was born on December 15, 1952 to Max and Bessie Moffat at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School. Married her first love, Willard O'Neal in 1973. She attended LDS Business College. Became a successful insurance and real estate agent. She then started her 25-year-long career at American Express, holding a variety of positions, including Public Relations, Team Leader, as well as Fraud Investigations. Shauna was most passionate about her family. Her happiest moments were with her family. She opened her home and heart to many, taking them in as her own. She enjoyed shopping, especially for shoes. Shauna also loved to travel-her favorite trip was to Europe, where she visited the Vatican.
Shauna is survived by her two sons, Brandon O'Neal (Nicole) of West Jordan; Clinten O'Neal (Micki) of St. George; mother Bessie Peterson of Sandy; brother, Gayland Moffat (Maria) of Salt Lake City; sister, LaNell Coon (Steve) of Riverton; as well as seven grandchildren: Anthony, Jayd, Chade, Kalani, Isaac, Dakari and Kai, and lots of nieces and nephews that she loved very much with all her heart. Preceded in death by her father, Max Moffat; and step-father, Donis A. Peterson.
As Shauna chose to be cremated, a memorial service will be held Thursday, August 22, 6:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 23, 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish, 1385 Spring Lane, Murray.

I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing from Steven. As you both know: I knew your Mom when you guys were just little kids living out in Taylorsville. She was always kind to me. She got to see you 2 grow up into fine young men, and I'm sure that she is PROUDLY watching over you now. I am deeply saddened to hear of Miss Shauna's passing. What a wonderful woman. She was always so funny to talk to and she loved her family and her grandbabies so much! I was blessed to have been able to get to know her and build a friendship with her while working at American Express.

Although I haven't saw Shauna in many years I remember her very well from my childhood and early adulthood, she was always very motherly to me and made me and my sistet Jennifer welcome in her home. She was always so nice to us as kids. Sorry for the loss Uncle Willard and my cousins Rainey, Brandon, Clinten. I miss you all. A family loss makes us all realize we need to spend more time with the ones we love so we can create great memories together. She will truely be missed by me and memories cherished forever.

I first met Shauna when I was 18 years old I had just became a mother myself and she was so nice to me, she was the first one to welcome me into the family and she stood by me and offered a lot of addvice that I hold dear to my heart, she became my Auntie and we shared our love for our collections of Rosary's and how beautiful they are she became my sister in faith and I will forever charish our time together, I will miss your laughter your smile and the joy you brought to my family we will forever love you Auntie may God Bless your soul and keep you within his arms. love always and always Bea.

When I think of Shauna I can not think of her without the image of her shopping obsession, many laughs

I had the pleasure of meeting Shauna while working with Brandon at AMEX. She was so sweet, I remember her always bringing lunch for Brandon during his breaks. She was a sweet lady with a great big heart and a wonderful sense of humor.

Although I never had the chance to meet Ms O'Neal; I know she was an amazing woman. I know this because I am blessed to work with her son, Brandon. Her love and devotion to her family comes thru, not only when Brandon speaks of her, but in everything he does for others.
