Sherrie Drecksel Obituary

Sherrie Marie Drecksel

February 26, 1947 ~

June 6, 2022

Salt Lake City, Utah—With profound sadness, the family of Sherrie Marie Drecksel born February 26, 1947, announces her sudden passing from an undiagnosed medical condition on June 6, 2022, in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born to Walter Norman and Janet Marie Drecksel, Sherrie was the oldest of six children. She was raised in Salt Lake City, and graduated from West High School and later Salt Lake Community college.

Seeking adventure, she moved to Northern California where she lived and worked for 17 years which was a highlight of her life. She later returned to Salt Lake to work and reside near her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed studying the gospel, serving in the temple, reading, dancing and spending time with family. Celebrating the milestones and achievements of her grandchildren was a great source of pride for her as posterity held a special place in her heart.

She was fiercely independent and courageous which belied the vulnerable soul within. She found comfort in the love of her Heavenly Father and devoutly believed in the power of forgiveness and the gift of eternal life.

'Mimi D' is survived by her children, Pamela Hair(Jeff), Deann Marie Woodruff (Eugen), Tamra Lyn Marchant (Kyle), Justin Woodruff(Lorna), 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Cynthia, Vicki, Diane, Chad and Debbie.

Viewing and Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at the LDS church at 1111 East Charlton Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. Viewing 9:00-9:45 a.m., Funeral at 10:00 a.m. Family graveside service at Salt Lake City Cemetery 4th Ave, '"N" street.
