Stuart Smith Obituary

1923 ~ 2012
"Together Again"
Our dear brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Stuart Ray Smith, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2012. Stu was born in Farmington, Utah, on October 23, 1923, to Orvil and Jeanette Smith. He attended Davis High School, Class of '42, and then joined the Navy in 1943. He served his country during WWII as a Code Interceptor. Stu met Jacqueline "Jackie" Williams, a Navy Wave, while they were both stationed in San Diego. They were married in March, 1945, and together raised 4 daughters. Jackie passed away in 1984. Stuart married Marge Paramore in 1985 and shared a happy life until Marge passed away in 1992. He retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller; then becoming a General Contractor, building cabins at his beloved Bear Lake.
Stuart is survived by his 4 daughters: Cyndie Smith, Connie Smith (Bob Parish), Kathy Tew and Geri Rolfe; 4 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren, and his brother, Emerson Smith.
His daughters would like to thank his exceptional doctors and CURO Home Health and Hospice Services for their loving care of Pop.
Funeral services will be held at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah, on Thursday, May 17, at 11:00 am. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, May 16, from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Valley View Funeral Home.

It warms my heart to know that you and Grandma are together again, but I will miss you so much, your quirky sense of humor, your stories and your wealth of knowledge that covered just about everything. I know wherever you are, there will always be a piece of you in my heart.

I love you, Gramps!
