Suada Neimarlija Obituary

Suada Neimarlija 1959 ~ 2008 Suada Neimarlija was born on Oct. 11, 1959 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina to Ahmet and Rasema. She had an older brother Suad who always looked after her. Suada married Hamdo at the young age of 20. She had two daughters, Aida and Albina. Suada put everything she had into raising her daughters and being a good wife. The normalcy of her family's life ended in 1993 with the war. Suada and her family fled Bosnia and became refugees. But Suada was tough and fought to keep her family safe in the new world. After living in Croatia, Norway, and New York City, Suada finally chose Utah to be her family's home. As a passionate explorer, traveler, and free spirit, she instantly fell in love with the state's natural beauties, finding that a lot of them reminded her of her native country. She especially enjoyed discovering new lakes all over Utah, never missing an opportunity to fish and hike with her husband. Our dear Suada was also very dedicated to her job and taught her daughters that with hard work anything is possible. Even though she moved to the United States without any knowledge of English, she quickly adapted here. She learned the language, built an amazing career, and was a great example to those around her. Suada's life was sadly cut short by cancer. She fought very hard for over 18 months and kept fighting to the last minute. During that time, she defied the cancer and lived life to the fullest: she went back to work, received a promotion, danced all night at Aida's wedding, and took in a few Broadway shows in New York City with her dear brother and sister-in-law Jasmina. She entertained the entire family on this last New Year's Eve singing Bosnian karaoke and joking endlessly. We will always remember Suada as a wonderful daughter, mother, wife, sister, and a friend. She was kind, honest, thoughtful, and passionate. All her life, she strived to do what is right and to help others. She had faith in people, a great sense of humor, and lots of optimism. She is loved by so many and will be missed immensely by everyone who knew her. The Family would like to thank everyone who supported Suada through this hard time, especially her oncologists Dr. Ward and Dr. Jones from the Huntsman Cancer Institute. We also invite all who wish to pay tribute to Suada to visit our home on Friday, March 7th at 5 p.m. at 4194 West Paynter Cove (3895 South) in West Valley City.

Your mother was a wonderful woman, raising two amazing daughters and leading an exceptional life. I met her at Aida's and Nermin's wedding last year. She was dancing and laughing all night and I will always remember her in that way! Much love!

I had the honor of knowing Suada for a breif 4, 5 months & in my time working with her side by side day by day, it made me realize that even if you are sick, it doesn't mean your life stops there, she lived her life to the fullest & I'll never forget that. What a beautiful, wonderful person she became through her battle of cancer & my heart goes out to her daughters & husband for their loss, she'll be forever in my thoughts & prayers!
Good bye Suada until we meet again, may your soul now rest in peace free of the pain.

What an honor for this family to have had such a great woman in their lives. It shows what sheer determination can do in someone's life. Always keep her in your heart and be proud to have been fortunate to have her as your wife and mother.

My aunt Suada meant the world to me. Through her stories, experiences, and "sit downs" I was blessed to be influences by one of the most cheerfull, intelligent, and loving souls on this planet. There is much to be written about her influence on people around her, but it would just be repetitious; as those people who knew her will already acknowledge her effect on their lives, like i do. I just hope that in heaven she looks over us during our lives, with her smile and loving heart just helping, guiding and watching over us. I know I will be living my life to an even higher degree to fulfill my dream, and overall to make my tetka Suada happy.
I LOVE YOU! rest in peace.
